The Weald is a beautiful area which is home to plenty of options in terms of fishing. I include a few options within 30 minutes' drive of The Old Workshop, below.

Bewl Water (pictured at top of page) is the largest reservoir in the South East, being 770 acres, and has a history of large trout and pike as well as good sized perch. Any method and fly fishing can be done from their fleet of 54 motorised fishing boats or from their kayaks.
There is tuition available and a tackle shop on site.
Frant Lakes (pictured above) is an eight lake fishing complex set in 150 acres of parkland on the Kent/Sussex border and features mature English Carp to 37lb+, Perch to 4lb+ as well as Bream, Roach, Tench, Ghosties, Orfe, Chub, and Dace.
There is a tackle shop and cafe on site.
Lakedown Trout Fishery and Taproom (pictured) is situated in a secluded Wealden valley with scenic views & no visible sign of habitation, this fishery was originally designed & created in 1981 by actor & Rock legend Roger Daltrey.
There is also a taproom on site, serving their own beer - and food at weekends.
Barratts Farm Fishery is situated in the Old Heathfield area of Heathfield. There are two lakes on this farm.
Both of these lakes hold some beautiful specimen fish including Carp, Mirrors, Koi, Tench, Perch, Crucian Carp, Roach, Rudd, Eels and Small Gudgeon.
Chalybeate Springs Fishery (pictured) is off the beaten track on the privately owned Eridget Estate amidst beautiful countryside.
Well stocked, stream fed water with Rainbow and Brown Trout between 2lb 8ozs and 8lbs. A two acre lake. Fishing lodge with tea / coffee and toilets.
Hastingord Fishery provides mirror, common and grass carp to 25lb over three lakes. Also tench, orfe, perch, roach, rudd, dace and gudgeon.
