The Old Workshop is in a quiet countryside location, a short distance from Wadhurst village, just above Snape Woods and close to Wadhurst Park. It is the perfect spot to take a break; whether you are looking for a walking holiday, an action packed family trip or perhaps just a peaceful escape from London.
The property is approached from our driveway and looks out on our garden. It has its own small enclosed garden (accessed from the sitting area) which has a gate in to our field, providing direct access to the footpath network. A barbecue and a picnic bench will be provided in summer months.
There is parking for 2-3 cars in the immediate vicinity of the building (including EV charger).
The kitchen is fully equipped with electric Aga, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine (nespresso), kettle, toaster, fridge, crockery, utensils and saucepans.
There is a washing machine, compact ironing board and iron under the stairs.
At mezzanine level, we have added a dedicated workspace / desk area which looks out over the field, as well as a suspended catamaran net for relaxing with a book.
For children - we have a highchair, toys, books, crockery, cutlery and travel cot available.
We provide a welcome pack of local produce including bread, eggs, butter and milk (with additional treats for longer stays).
Please note that this is to help with the beginning of your stay - breakfast is not provided daily thereafter.
The bedrooms can be set up as a double (king) room and a twin room, or as two doubles (a king and a superking). The twin beds can be placed under the eaves with curtains, or in the centre of the room (better for adults).
Examples as below:
The Old Workshop is approximately 100m from our house (Snape Clock House). There are two other properties in the vicinity - a very beautiful 15th century barn, and the impressive Snape House. Together, these properties once formed an historic estate owned by Sir George Barham. We understand that the workshop was used in conjunction with the kitchen garden and also for paying wages to workers, whilst the Clock House was constructed as a stable block and coach house.
